Active Membership
An active member shall have voting privileges and
pay dues. Any person employed by a community with the power to
enforce its building, zoning, and/or other related ordinances is
eligible for active membership.
Associate Membership
An associate member shall not have voting
privileges but shall pay dues. Any person who wishes to belong to
the Association and that is interested in enforcement and building
procedures is eligible for associate membership.
Honorary Membership
An honorary member shall have voting privileges,
but shall not be required to pay dues. Any person the Association
wishes to honor for having rendered unusual services to the
Association is eligible for honorary membership.
Dues
Dues are payable in advance on or before April 1
of each year in the amount of $60.00. This entitles you to eight
training programs, which are included in your membership. There is
also a per meeting fee of $20.00 which includes lunch. The fee will
be charged whether or not you participate in the lunch being
provided. The fee of $20.00 can be paid up front with your
membership dues, at which point you would receive a card stating you
had paid in advance, or you may pay at the door for each meeting.
Training
Public Act 54-approved Continuing Education Training is provided
for the membership the third Wednesday of the month directly
following the 1:00 p.m. business meeting. The training
season begins with the month of September and continues through
October, November, December, January, February, March, April (the
month of April is the annual all-day seminar which is subject to an
additional fee) and ends the month of May.
The association
business meeting is held at 1:00 p.m. each month prior to the training
programs. Lunch is served buffet style at 12:00 noon prior to the
business meeting. Lunch is included with the $20.00 per meeting fee.
The current membership makeup consists of
building
officials; building, mechanical, and electrical inspectors; plan
examiners, code enforcement officers, fire service personnel, architects,
and contractors.
